Sleeping through the Genocide

As an engineer, I really despise politics, news and conflicts.

This one I couldn’t ignore. I can no longer remain silent and simply “move on.”

I have never felt so useless to prevent an innocent person from dying from constant bombardment. I see my parents, my wife, my brother, all my relatives among them. People are stuck in the biggest open-air prison.

What is the value of a human life? Is there a price? How can any rational human being justify this?

Everyday, people are being killed, and injured…thousands are missing under the rubble.

These are direct coordinated attacks on Children, Women, Elders, Teachers, Engineers, Journalists…

At least 2,215 Palestinians have been killed and 8,714 wounded in Israeli air attacks on Gaza. The number of people killed in Israel has reached 1,300, with more than 3,400 wounded. In the occupied West Bank, the number of Palestinians killed by Israeli fire in the past week has topped 50.

Most of the news channels are silent. The so “elected” leaders are silent. It’s truly horrifying to witness the lengths to which our society will go in pursuit of economic prosperity, even if those pursuits are fundamentally misguided.

I might feel useless, but I am not hopeless. There will be a time where we will look book to this day and realize where was I when the genocide was happening? What did I do? Every day, new articles come out to expose the evil agendas of the oppressive nations. Truth always prevails, but it’s slow and by that time the damage is already done. Ultimate justice awaits us all.

Whole world is watching, recording and protesting. I hope as a rational person, you can see through the bigger picture. Ask yourself important questions: What is the value of a human life? How far will you go to justify killing?

Let there be peace. All lives matter.

Nothing justifies genocide.
